we also experimented with different blood patterns and different lighting, above are a couple of photos to show this. The first photo is taken from when we changed the lighting so it shone from different angles, in this particular image the lighting is directly in level with the card and is shining from the side, this has given all the raised areas exaggerated shadows and makes the blobls of blood on the card look very fake and like they have been put in by photoshop, we though this effect looked good but it was not what we wanted as we wanted the photo to like realistic and more older that computer generated. The second photo is a picture of one of our ideas for the blood pattern, as well as spraying the blood onto the card and paper we also thought that a hand print might be just as scary and have the same effect but when we did a test run with it we decided that spraying the blood and flicking it onto the paper looked better than the hand print as the hand print looked too purposly done.
This was our final attempt, we agreed that the lighting made a lot of difference, it changed the colour of the white slightly to a more dingy yellow which looks a good effect, overall the lighting completely changed the look of the photo and we were very pleased with the outcome. To create it we simply took the photo in a dark room where the only light source was a tourch that we shone directly down towards the card and the piece of paper. The blood was created by putting watered down paint onto a toothbrush and then flicking the brissles so it sprayed off and then the bigger dots of blood were created by just flicking the paint brush, we felt this was the closet we were gonna get to it looking like real blood splatterd over the card. I think that overall we have done well in achieving to portray his professional, working side and his evil side in one photo.

This is how it came out, we have not experimented with the lighting on this shot as we wanted to see what it looked like with just normal lighting, we were pleased with the way it looked and though it looked quite genuine. We did think the background may be a bit of a problem as it is quite plain and boring, we thought about maybe using different paper e.g. newspaper or parsel paper but in the end we thought it was best just to have it plain and we could then adjust it and make it more interesting with the lighting or in photoshop if we thought we had to.

This was a test run for the photo, we didn't want to put blood onto the card straight away as it was the only one we had on us at the time so we though we should do a test to get an idea of how it would look, we were happy with this and proceeded onto the real card. Also we thought that it would look better with some bigger spots of blood and also different lighting, we thought that this would make the difference and make the photo look of higher quality.

Magazine cover
for our magazine cover we decided that the picture was going to be of our killers business card because we thought that it was a significant prop and part of the trailer, our idea was to make the business card look professional and real and this would represent the working, normal side of his life and then we would cover it in blood or change it in some way so that there was something that represented his darker, physcotic side.
This picture shows the business card we came up with, we thought that it looked good and professional enough to use for the magazine cover

Analysing film posters
A film poster is used to advertise a film. There may be several versions for one film, with variations in regards to size, content and country of production of the poster. It usually contains an image with text, though this has evolved over time. The text usually contains the film title in large lettering and often the names of the main actors. It may also include a tag line, the name of the director, names of characters, the release date, etc.

This is a movie poster from the film 'The eye'.The eye is a horror film that is a remake of the Hong Kong film "Jian Gui",and is about a woman who receives an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world. When creating a poster for the film they would have to think about how they want the film to be perceived. This poster has mainly used the colours black and blue, the blue creates a cold feel and makes the poster look eery and mysterious, this is usual for a poster of this genre. The film title is written in bold white lettering, it is very clear and square, there is not many effects put onto the title, it is slightly blurred and the black and blue slightly blur over the bottom right corner. I think that the designer of this poster purposely made the picture very contrasting to the title so that the title stands out and draws your attention straight away. There is a tag line featured just below the title as well, it reads 'you wont believe her eyes'. This is a play on the common phrase 'you wont believe your eyes' but relates it to the film and makes it very suitable for the poster. It is only a short tag line, only one sentence, it does not really give anything away about the film or its plot but makes you wonder what it is. The picture that takes up the whole of the poster is a medium/close up shot of the main actor jessica alba, the picture is her standing against a window with her hand pressed against it, her eyes have also been whitened to make the pupils appear fainter and gives a ghostly effect, there is also water running down the window witch adds to the distortion of the face and the cold feeling of the poster. Overall i feel that this poster is very effective in advertising its film, it does not really give anything away about the film which in some cases is good but still attracts people becuase of the interesting image and the bold title.
